B/c she’s funny, smart and cool! And so very nice. People blow off the word nice as a descriptor, but it is a huge thing. The world needs more nice people!
Also, b/c she’s passionate about the love of her life. She’s going to be a great wife to her sweetie! And she deserves all the love he can give her!

There are a few.
A long car trip to Grinnell to meet the boyfriend’s mother. cue dark music ...Oddly, Matt was more nervous than either Sharon or me.
The moments when I ask about some biblical reference and Sharon gets excited and walks me through it.
The way she cried as she laughed when Natalie chipped Mike’s tooth.
The moment she welcomed me in her door, into her family, and in her arms.
Sharon is a downright amazing woman… for a mother-in-law, I mean ;)
It all started with an ill-conceived decision to go bar hopping. Ashley and I got smashed as we wandered in and out of all the bars in town. We ended up in a little hole-in-the-wall place called Big Bubba’s. That’s when things turned weird.
It may have been the chocolate pudding wrestling ring. Or the banana eating contest. Or the catfight over Big Bubba himself. Whatever it was, it stretches between us now with ringing tension, the unspoken incident aching behind our every word.
Matt and I are engaged and looking to be married in the relatively near future. He knows the most amazing obscure trivia and has a beautiful voice. He’s the love of my life, my world. He is crazy smart and has a great sense of humor. Not to mention, he’s downright gorgeous…
The first time we met, she was in an evening gown, and I was in a really nice suit. The second time we met, I was in really casual hanging-out clothes and she was sick and wearing only a bathrobe and a towel on her head. The third time we met, we went bowling, and pretty much started dating at that point. That’s the story of how we met.
I didn’t say it was an interesting story.
